About Our Worship Services
Worship is the cornerstone of our congregational life together as Presbyterians. Fox Valley Presbyterian Church conducts two worship services each Sunday:
- 8:30 a.m. worship, which is traditional, with a casual atmosphere
- 10:00 a.m. worship, which is traditional, with formal choir participation and a time for young Christians
In addition to our regular services on each Sunday there are various times in the year for special services, including Ash Wednesday, Maunday Thursday, Good Friday, Healing & Wholeness services, a Longest Night service, and Christmas Eve.
Baptism & Communion
“The Reformed tradition understands Baptism and the Lord’s Supper to be Sacraments, instituted by God and commended by Christ. Sacraments are signs of the real presence and power of Christ in the Church, symbols of God’s action. Through the Sacraments, God seals believers in redemption, renews their identity as the people of God, and marks them for service” (Book of Order W-1.3033.2).
Baptism
Baptism of both infants and adults is practiced. Baptism of infants typically occurs every other month, with a time of instruction for the parents on the preceding Sunday.
The Lord’s Supper
We observe the sacrament of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month and on Ash Wednesday, Maundy or Holy Thursday, and Confirmation Sunday. In the Presbyterian Church all are welcome to receive Holy Communion, including children with their parents’ guidance and permission.
Choir
“Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God: for God is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting” (Psalm 147.1).
Fox Valley Presbyterian Church has several vocal choirs as well as a handbell choir that praise God through music.
Chancel Choir
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is the primary choir supporting the 10:00 a.m. service. The Chancel Choir prepares at least one major choral work each year presented at a special concert or service. All who love to sing are encouraged to join this choir. The Chancel choir rehearses September through May on Wednesday evenings.
Joyful Noise Handbell Choir
The Joyful Noise Choir brings the joyful and gentle music of handbells to our worship services once a month. The Joyful Noise rehearses on Monday evenings.
Youth Ensemble

For middle school girls and boys; rehearses on Sundays at 11:15 a.m.
The Junior Choir
Junior Choir
The Junior Choir is for children in second through fifth grade. The choir sings monthly and rehearses on Wednesday afternoons.
Cherub Choir
Cherub Choir
The Cherub Choir is for children in preschool to first grade. The choir sings monthly and rehearses on Wednesday afternoons.
Weddings at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church
The pastors and staff of the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church are happy to help plan and officiate at the weddings of both church members and, as schedule permits, non-members.
While weddings at FVPC must be conducted by one of our pastors, other ministers or priests may be invited to participate with the pastor. FVPC has a printed Wedding Policy titled Celebration of Marriage in the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church which provides other helpful information.
